
Men’s Lacrosse Travels to No. 6 North Carolina on Saturday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Brown men's lacrosse team (3-1, 0-0 Ivy League) will travel to No. 6 North Carolina (5-1, 0-0 ACC) on Saturday, the opening face-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at Dorrance Stadium.
Last Time Out
Brown earned its second-straight Ocean State Cup and ninth overall with a 17-6 win over Bryant (Feb. 28). Jeremy Hopsicker netted a career-high six goals while Brady O'Kane and Marcus Wertheim each tallied hat tricks.
The Bears had eight different goal scorers against the Bulldogs and had 13 players tally at least one point. Hopsicker and O'Kane led the way with six points each. Connor Foley made 12 saves in the win and Henry Brayer won 16-23 face-offs.
Scouting Brown
Brown enters its tilt with North Carolina seeking its first 4-1 start since 2022. The Bears are also looking for their first win over a ranked opponent since they beat No. 13 Princeton (Apr. 13, 2024).
The Bears lead the Ivy League in shots per game (42.0), shots on goal per game (27.25), man-up goals per game (1.0), and penalty killing percentage (.875).
Hopsicker leads the Ivy League in goals per game (3.25), he ranks second in shots per game (9.25) and total goals (13). Hopsicker's goals per game total ranks 13th nationally.
Foley leads the Ivy League in goals against average (7.76), save percentage (.651), and ranks second in saves per game (14.0). Foley's save percentage ranks second nationally, his goals against average and saves per game both rank seventh in the nation.
Henry Brayer leads the nation in face-off winning percentage (.709) and ranks sixth in ground balls per game (8.50). The junior has gone 56-79 through four games this season and has won 16 face-offs in back-to-back games. As a team, the Bears lead the nation in face-off winning percentage.
Scouting North Carolina
North Carolina will wrap up a stretch of three-straight games against Ivy League opponents, the Tar Heels defeated Penn (Mar. 27) before falling to Princeton (Mar. 1).
The Tar Heels rank fifth nationally in scoring offense (15.17), seventh in scoring margin (6.0), sixth in points per game (22.67), sixth in face-off winning percentage (.623), and third in ground balls per game (36.17).
Brady Wambach leads the nation in ground balls per game (11.17) and ranks sixth in the nation in face-off winning percentage (.664). Owen Duffy ranks fourth nationally in assists per game (2.83),

Saturday marks the sixth matchup between the Bears and Tar Heels, the Tar Heels are 5-0 all-time against the Bears.
