Men’s Lacrosse Hosts Penn in Pivotal Ivy League Matchup on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's lacrosse team (6-5, 1-3 Ivy) will host Penn (5-6, 2-3 Ivy) in a pivotal matchup on Saturday, April, 18. The opening face-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
Wertheim Selected by California Redwoods
Senior Marcus Wertheim was selected 26th overall by the California Redwoods in the 2026 PLL College Draft on Tuesday evening. Wertheim became the second player in program history to be selected by a PLL franchise, joining Ryan Aughavin '22.
Scouting Brown
In its last outing, Brown overcame a seven-goal second half deficit to take down Dartmouth 17-16 in overtime (Apr. 11). Brady O'Kane led the way offensively with a career-high five goals and one assist. O'Kane scored four out of his five goals in the fourth quarter and overtime, highlighted by the game-winning goal. O'Kane was named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week and named to the USILA National Team of the Week after his performance against Dartmouth.
Wertheim ranks sixth in the Ivy League in points per game (3.73) and total points (41). He also ranks fifth in assists per game (1.64) and in total assists (18). Ben Scandone ranks sixth in assists per game (1.55).
Henry Brayer leads the Ivy League and ranks ninth nationally in ground balls per game (7.18). Most recently, Brayer won 24 face-offs, which is tied for the most in a single game nationally this season.
Scouting Penn
The Quakers will look to snap a four-game losing streak when they travel to Stevenson-Pincince Field. Overall, Penn is 4-1 on the road this season.
Davis Provost ranks fourth in the Ivy League in goals per game (2.33) and total goals (28), Provost has found the back of the net in every game this season. Griffin Scane ranks second on the Quakers in goals (22), Jackson Maher leads Penn in assists (13).
History
Saturday will be the 64th all-time meeting between Brown and Penn, the Bears own a 36-27 record over the Quakers. Brown will look to snap a two-game losing streak against Penn.
Brown is 18-13 at home against Penn.
