Wertheim Selected by California Redwoods in 2026 PLL College Draft

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior Marcus Wertheim of the Brown men's lacrosse team was selected in the 4th round, 26th overall by California Redwoods in the 2026 PLL College Draft.
"Marcus is a leader, winner, and an elite competitor," Rothman Head Coaching Chair for Men's Lacrosse Jon Torpey said. "He is built for the PLL and we can't wait to see him continue to dominate!"
In 49 appearances as a Bear, Wertheim has accumulated 59 goals, 48 assists, and 107 points. The St. James, N.Y. native recorded his 100th point against Princeton (Mar. 28).
This season, Wertheim has tallied career-highs in goals, assists, points, and shots on goal. He currently ranks fifth in the Ivy League in assists (18) and assists per game (1.64).
Wertheim is the second player in program history to be selected in the PLL College Draft, joining Ryan Aughavin '22. Overall, Wertheim is the 18th Bear to be selected in a draft, joining the listed below who were taken by Major League Lacrosse teams from 2002 to 2020. The MLL and PLL merged in December 2020.
