Softball Treks to Rhode Island for Wednesday Doubleheader

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball will make the trip south for a midweek doubleheader at Rhode Island on Wednesday (March 25). First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 2 p.m.
The games against Rhode Island will not be streamed.

ABOUT THE BEARS
- Brown enters the weekend with a 6-13 overall record and 1-2 mark in Ivy play after dropping two of three games to Columbia.
- Maggie Foxx leads Brown's lineup with a .300 average and is closely followed by Macy Borowski at .297. Borowski hit her second home run of the season with a seventh-inning shot to tie the game in game three of the series with Columbia.
- Elli Thompson leads all batters with 13 RBI and is tied with Lilly Burns with three home runs to lead the team.
- Amanda Deng and Abby Bettencourt are both riding four-game hitting streaks.
- Borowski leads Brown in the circle with a 3.85 ERA and 4-5 record. Borowski had 58 strikeouts in 63.2 innings pitched and picked up a save in game two of the series with Columbia.
- Rhode Island is 5-11 on the season and 1-5 in conference play. The Rams are on a two-game losing streak and dropped three-of-four games at Tarleton State last weekend.
- The Rams will be playing their first home games of the season when they host the Bears.
- Hannah Hernandez has the highest qualifying batting average (.326) for a team hitting .264 on the season. Kylie Bulinski is leading the team with two home runs and nine runs driven in.
- In the circle, Ashley Hubbard has the team's best ERA at 2.47. Avery Vale-Cruz leads the pitching staff in innings pitched (36.0) and wins (3) and is tied with Hubbard for the team lead with 23 strikeouts.
- Brown is 29-38 all-time against Rhode Island.
- The Bears have won the last four meetings with the Rams, winning twice in five-inning run rule games.
- The last time Brown played in Kingston, Brown dropped both games, losing 3-2 and 3-0. Brown's last win on the road was a 9-2 win on April 18, 2017 as part of a doubleheader that Brown swept.
