CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Brown baseball team dropped its series finale at Charleston Southern on Sunday afternoon by a score of 10-4.

Freshman Matt Luigs, sophomore Jack Edmunds and sophomore Christian Butera all had two hits apiece for Brown. Four different players picked up RBIs. The Buccaneers outhit the Bears 11-10.

CSU scored runs in seven of the eight innings on offense, starting with three out of the gate in the bottom of the first and added another in the second. Brown cut the deficit in half with RBI singles by DJ Dillehay and Mark Henshon in the third inning, but the Bears were kept off the board again until the ninth.

Charleston scored six unanswered runs from the third through the eighth innings to grow the lead to 10-2 before Brown got two back in the ninth. The Bears put the first four men on base in the frame with Edmunds doubling in a run, and Luigs knocking in another with an infield single to shortstop.

The Bears will return to action this coming Friday, March 6 when they will host the University of Rhode Island for the home opener at Attanasio Family Field at Murray Stadium. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
