
Men’s Tennis Moves to 5-0 with 6-1 Win Over Boston College

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's tennis team (5-0) continued its season-opening win streak with a 6-1 win over Boston College (2-1) on Friday evening inside the Pizzitola Sports Center.
In doubles action, Zander Bravo and Ivan Sodan fell in a tight match (6-7) against Liam O'Leary and Matvey Greschner. Elliot Wasserman and Theo Murphy followed with a strong performance of their own, securing a 6-3 win over Matthew Carioscia and Matthew Overvelde. Rounding out doubles action was Cole Oberg and Lukas Phimvongsa, who claimed a 6-4 win against Aidan Pack and Lukas Rais.
On the singles side, Sodan got the win with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Matthew Carioscia, while Phimvongsa followed with a strong 7-5, 6-4 victory against Matthew Overvelde. Bravo battled through a three-set thriller, falling to Mai Gao, 7-5, 6-7(4), 10-5. Wasserman continued with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Lukas Rais, and Robert Yang edged Matvey Greschner, 6-4, 7-5, while Alex Koong also secured a clean 6-4, 6-4 victory over Luke Levanat.
The Bears will be back in action on Sunday, Feb. 8, when they host Buffalo at 10 a.m. and Quinnipiac at 4 p.m.
