Men’s Basketball Drops Back-and-Forth Battle at Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Brown men's basketball team (7-14, 1-7) dropped a back-and-forth Ivy League battle at Yale (17-4, 6-2), 81-69, on Friday evening inside the John J. Lee Amphitheater.
Luke Paragon scored a team-high 15 points on 6-11 shooting from the floor while Landon Lewis, Adrian Uchidiuno, and Malcolm Wrisby-Jefferson all added 11. Along with 11 points, Wrisby-Jefferson added five rebounds and four assists.
After Yale opened the game on a 14-2 run, Brown began its comeback. The Bears cut the Bulldogs' lead to three on two separate occasions before eventually tying the game at 29 with 2:55 remaining in the stanza.
With the game tied at 29, Brown ended the half on a 7-2 run to take a 36-31 advantage into halftime. The Brown defense forced eight first half turnovers and forced Yale to miss its last seven three-point opportunities. The Bears' defense also held the Bulldogs' offense to just 11 points over the last 12 minutes of the first half.
Offensively, Brown shot 6-13 from beyond the arc in the opening 20 minutes behind nine points from Paragon and six from Uchidiuno.
The Bears opened the second half outscoring the Bulldogs 8-3 to take a 44-34 lead. Yale quickly fought back, hitting back-to-back three-pointers to cut Brown's lead to 44-40. The Bears then launched a 5-1 run to push their lead to 49-41 with 14:24 remaining.
The Bulldogs battled back to tie the game at 57, which began a 7-2 run by the Bears highlighted by a four-point play by Luke Paragon.
With Brown leading 64-59, Yale mounted a 22-5 run over the final 7:56 to earn the victory.
Brown will travel to Harvard on Friday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. before heading to Dartmouth on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 6 p.m.
