
Gymnastics Heads to Springfield for Sunday Tri-Meet

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - For the second time this season, the Brown gymnastics team will face off against Springfield College and Rhode Island College, this time in a tri-meet in Springfield. The meet is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday, February 8.

OWNING THE FLOOR
Brown holds the No. 1 rank in the GEC on floor through the first four weeks. Brown has three gymnasts ranked in the top six in the GEC this season with Sophia Dewar ranking third, Addy Whiteside in fifth and Lindsey Yang in sixth.
Last weekend, Brown scored a 49.075, tying for the 11th best score in program history. Yang has earned at least a share of the floor title at two meets this season.
LULU'S BIG DAY
Lulu Ton-That earned at least a share of the individual title on both of her events last weekend vs. SCSU, tying for first place on vault (9.725) and winning outright on bars to tie her career-high (9.675).
SENIOR LEADERSHIP
Senior Sophia Dewar led the Bears in all three of her events on January 24 at Bridgeport, taking first place on floor (9.850), and taking second place on vault (tie-9.775) and bars (career-high of 9.750).
She followed that up last weekend vs. SCSU with a 9.875 on floor to tie her career-high, and also tied for first on vault.
YANG TIES PROGRAM RECORD
Junior Lindsey Yang tied the program record on beam on January 18 with a 9.925, tying Janye Finst's record that has stood since 2001.
2026 GEC WEEKLY AWARDS
Brown has had three GEC weekly award winners this season, and has had an award winner in eight of the last 10 weeks dating back to last season.
