Gymnastics Dominates with Season-High at Sunday Tri-Meet

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown gymnastics team delivered a clean sweep of the podium on all four events and posted a season-high 194.550 on Sunday, topping both Rhode Island College and Springfield in a tri-meet hosted by Springfield College.
Brown's score registers as the 13th highest in program history, well ahead of RIC (189.775) and Springfield (186.900).
Senior Sophia Dewar won on floor and took second on both vault and bars to lead the Bears. Freshman Lulu Ton-That took home first place on vault and third on bars, and junior Emily Ford took third place on vault and beam.
Starting the meet on bars, Brown posted a 48.225 and swept the top four spots with senior Liza Marcus earning first place (9.700).
Next on beam, Brown posted a 48.875, tying for the 10th best score in program history. Sophomore Addy Whiteside (career-high) and junior Lindsay Van Eyk tied for first place overall at 9.850 as the Bears once again swept the top four places.
On floor, Brown swept the podium with Dewar taking first place with a new career-high at 9.875. Rounding out the meet on vault, Brown took the top four spots with Ton-That's career-high performance of 9.825 leading the way.
The Bears will next compete on Friday evening, February 13 at Temple in Philadelphia. Fellow GEC foes Yale and William & Mary will also compete in the quad meet.
