Men's Lacrosse Hosts Bryant in Ocean State Cup Clash

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (2-1, 0-0 Ivy League) host the Bryant Bulldogs (1-2, 0-0 AE) in the final game of the 2026 Ocean State Cup on Saturday. This weekend's game is scheduled to begin at noon and will stream on ESPN+ in the United States.

- Brown enters Saturday with a 2-1 overall record with wins over Fairfield and Providence College and a loss to UMass.
- Brown's offense averages 8.67 goals per game with Jeremy Hopsicker leading the way with seven goals and seven points. Ben Scandone leads the team with four assists.
- The Bears have one man-up goal in seven attempts (.143) through three games.
- Brown owns an .810 clear percentage and an opponent clear percentage of .783.
- Defensively, Brown allows 8.67 goals per game. Connor Foley has started all three games and holds a .636 save percentage and an 8.36 goals against average.
- Brown's man-down defense has allowed two goals in 10 attempts (.800).
- As a team, Brown has won 70% of its faceoffs. Henry Brayer enters Saturday 40-for-56 (.714) on the season with 8.33 ground balls per game.
- Bryant enters Saturday with a 1-2 overall record with a win over Quinnipiac and losses to Providence College and Merrimack.
- Bryant's offense averages 10.33 goals per game with Zac Amend leading the team with seven goals and four assists for 11 points. Dawson Rielly ranks second on the team with six goals and eight points.
- Bryant's man-up offense has three goals in 12 attempts (.250) through the early part of the season. Three different Bulldogs have tallied a man-up goal.
- Bryant owns an .881 clear percentage and an opponent clear percentage of .810.
- Defensively, the Bulldogs allow 12.00 goals per game. Goalie James Carr has started all three games and holds a .563 save percentage and an 11.50 goals against average.
- The man-down defense is 7-for-13 (.538) through the opening games.
- As a team, Bryant holds a .494 faceoff percentage. JJ Murphy has won half his faceoffs (25-50) with 15 ground balls.
- Saturday marks the 16th meeting between Brown and Bryant in a series dating back to 2009.
- Brown is 9-6 in series history and holds a 4-4 record on College Hill.
- The Bears are 6-4 in the last 10 meetings.
- Saturday will determine the 2026 Ocean State Cup Champion.
- Brown will claim the program's ninth Cup with a win over the Bulldogs.
- With a Bryant win, all three teams will finish 1-1 and the first tiebreaker of goals against will determine the Champion.
- PC allowed 19 goals in two games, Bryant has allowed 16 goals in one game, and Brown has allowed 7 goals in one game.
- If the Bears lose and allow 11 or fewer goals and score at least three goals, they will retain the Cup in 2026.
- Brown captured its first Ocean State Cup since 2022 and eighth in program history with wins over Providence College and Bryant in 2025.
- Brown takes on Providence College on the road next Saturday (Feb. 21) before hosting the Bulldogs on Saturday, February 28.
- Brown won the Cup in 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2022, and 2025.

- Foley picked up the victory against Fairfield (Feb. 14) with a 14-save effort before adding 14 saves in the overtime victory over PC (Feb. 21).
- Most recently, he tallied 16 saves in the loss to UMass.
- Through three games, Foley holds a .638 save percentage and an 8.36 goals against average.
- Hopsicker recorded his fourth career hat trick and second career four-goal game in the opener against Fairfield (Feb. 14). He added his fifth career hat trick against UMass (Feb. 25).
- The captain leads the Bears with seven goals and seven points through three games.
- Junior Henry Brayer is off to a scorching start to the season at the faceoff X. He is 40-for-56 (.714) on draws and averages 8.33 ground balls per game.
