PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Brown wrestling (5-9, 0-5 Ivy) concluded the 2025-26 regular season with a 26-16 setback to Harvard (6-6, 2-3 Ivy) on Sunday afternoon at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
"Mari Manns, Austin McBurney, Max Norman, Drew Reall, and Alex Semenenko have put themselves in a strong position heading into the Ivy Championships,"Â Marvin Wilenzik '56 Head Coaching Chair for Brown Wrestling Jordan Leen said.Â
"We have been a bit physically compromised at 157, 174, and 184 recently, so we will try to get those guys healed up the best we can over the next two weeks and help them get into position to make a run as well. I anticipate that one of them will be crowned the program's first ever Ivy Champion and that we will be sending multiple people to the NCAA Championships."Â Â
The Bears found themselves down 12-0 with NA/No. 32 Khimari Manns (141) headed to the mat. In a spirited match, Manns defeated Dante Frinzi via decision, 9-2. Manns won both of his matches this weekend via decision, moving to 18-15 overall and 7-7 in duals.Â
The second win of the afternoon for Bruno also came from a freshman, with Max Norman (165) earning a 5-3 decision against Joe Cangro. The Kingsport, Tennessee natvie took the lead late in the second period after a crafty takedown and was able to hold the lead the rest of the way. Norman also won both matches this weekend, improving to 21-13 overall and 7-7 in dual meets.Â
No. 19/No. 15 Andrew Reall (197) earned a 21-4 tech fall in 6:33 against Hudson Skove to give the Bears an additional five points on the day. The win moved Reall to 32-4 on the year and 13-1 in dual meets. With two wins this weekend, Reall became the first Bears wrestler to win 32 matches in a season since Justin Staudenmayer (32-12) in 2014-15.Â
No. 24/No. 14 Alex Semenenko (285) ended the day with a dominant showing of his own, picking up a 22-6 tech fall in 6:31 against Daniel Bittner and earning five points for the Bears. Semenenko moves to 24-6 on the season and 12-2 in dual meets with two wins this weekend.Â
The Bears have an extra week to prepare before the Ivy League Championship on Mar. 8 in New York.Â
