2/14/2026 5:52:00 PM | Women's Ice Hockey
PRINCETON, N.J. – Brown women's hockey (16-12-2, 12-8-2 ECAC) finished the regular season with a 3-2 overtime loss to No. 8 Princeton (21-8-0, 16-6-0 ECAC) at Hobey Baker Rink on Saturday (Feb. 14).
Jade Iginla finished the night with a goal and an assist. India McDadi scored a goal for the Bears and Monique Lyons and Margot Norehad both notched assists.
Rory Edwards finished the game with 39 saves in net for Brown.
"The team played hard from start to finish," said head coach Melanie Ruzzi. "We made some defensive adjustments to address some of the issues we had on Friday and I felt like the combination of those and our compete were the difference today. Coming back twice to earn the point was good way to close out the regular season."
Brown had a chance to jump ahead five minutes into the game but as Zoe Li got out in front of the defense but her shot went off the cross bar and the game remained scoreless.
Princeton broke the ice beating Edwards with two minutes left in the first period to take a 1-0 lead after the first 20 minutes.
After a scoreless second, Brown tied the game 1:48 into the third. Iginla fired one on net from the dot that went off Uma Corniea's (31 saves) blocker and bounced behind the Princeton netminder before rolling over the goal line.
The tie lasted about six minutes before a slapshot from Princeton's Issy Wunder beat Edwards over the blocker shoulder, hitting the inside of the pipe and finding the net.
The Bears were down to their last few minutes having pulled Edwards when the puck came in front of the net and McDadi slapped a one-timer past Corneia to tie the game.
In overtime, Princeton's Wunder scored her second of the game, putting home a rebound after Edwards made the first save on a breakaway.
GAME NOTES
Brown will be the No. 7 seed in the ECAC Playoffs. The Bears will take on the No. 10 seed in the Opening Round of the playoffs. Opponent, date and time of the game will be announced at a later date.
