Ivy League Releases Baseball Preseason Poll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown baseball team has been selected eighth in the 2026 Ivy League Preseason Baseball Poll, which the league released on Thursday. The poll was voted upon by the sports information directors and one media member from each institution.
Columbia, who won the Ivy League Tournament in 2025 and qualified for NCAA Regionals, was the preseason favorite, narrowly edging out defending champion Yale for the top spot. Penn followed in third place, with Harvard rounding out the top four.

The Ivy League's eight schools will open their seasons next weekend, including the Bears who will face off against Miami University (Ohio) on Friday, February 20 in Port Charlotte, Fla. Brown will then face Illinois State and Indiana State on Saturday the 21st to round out the trip. Brown will open Ivy play on March 21 at Yale.
The 2026 season marks the start of a new era for Brown baseball under first-year head coach Frank Holbrook. The Bears will return six position players that made at least 25 starts last season, including two All-Ivy honorees in infielder DJ Dillehay and outfielder Mika Petersen, who won the 2025 Ivy League batting title.
