Women's Hockey Downed in Overtime at Harvard
1/9/2026 7:32:00 PM | Women's Ice Hockey
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Brown women's hockey (11-8-1, 7-5-1 ECAC) dropped an overtime matchup with Harvard (9-7-1, 5-5-1 ECAC), 2-1 in the Bright-Landry Hockey Center on Friday night (Jan. 9).
The Bears got their lone goal from Ava DeCoste, who scored her second goal of the season. India McDadi and Avery Saba picked up assists on the goal.
Anya Zupkofska finished the game with 24 saves for the Bears.
Brown got on the board first as Ava DeCoste took advantage of a rebound. McDadi sent the puck on net from the goal line and the puck kicked out front right to DeCoste, who was waiting in the slot. DeCoste went over the left shoulder of Ainsley Tuffy (35 saves), off the post and the crossbar and in the net
Zupkofska, who had made multiple strong saves early in the game had a highlight reel save shortly after Brown's goal. Harvard had a two-on-one and a pass across Zupkofska looked like it was going to result in a Crimson goal but the sophomore goalie took the puck off the Harvard stick at the top of the crease and covered it to keep the game scoreless.
Harvard finally got past Zupkofska five minutes into the third with another two-on-one and Zoe Boosamra beat Zupkofska up high to make it 1-1, sending the game into overtime.
In overtime, both teams had chances but with under ten seconds left, Harvard ended up with an odd-man rush. A shot one net was kicked away by Zupkofska but the rebound was put home by Emi Biotti to end the game.
GAME NOTES
Brown will finish up its road weekend with a trip to Dartmouth on Saturday (Jan. 9). Puck drop against the Big Green is set for 3 p.m.
