
Gymnastics Set to Open Season on Sunday with Home Quad Meet

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown gymnastics team will open up its 2026 season this Sunday afternoon at home by hosting Rhode Island College, Southern Connectiuct State and Springfield for a quad meet. The action is set to get underway from the Pizzitola Sports Center at 2 p.m. It will mark the first time since 2017 that Brown is opening up the season at home.

YOUTH DAY
As part of Youth Day, the following activites will take place:
- Poster making station in the Cub Corner area
- Hair braider K-Braids in attendance
- Post-meet autographs and photos with the team
SEASON OPENERS
Brown has put up its highest season-opening team scores all-time in two of the last three seasons, posting a 192.950 in the 2024 opener at Oregon State and a 191.225 at Yale in 2023 (both dual meets).

WHO RETURNS?
Brown returns 15 gymnasts from last year's squad and welcomes four incoming freshman. The team also return seven of its 10 All-GEC performers from last season.
REGIONAL QUALIFIERS
Brown has had three gymnasts qualify for NCAA Regionals over the last four years, including Mei Li Costa (bars) in 2022, Julia Bedell (floor) in 2024, and Maya Davis (floor) in 2025.
STORY OF THE NQS
Brown has posted the four highest National Qualifying Scores in program history over the last four seasons. The final rank of 56th in 2025 was the third-highest in program history.
