PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Brown wrestling (3-5, 0-1 Ivy) is set to host two Ivy League foes in dual meets this weekend at the Pizzitola Sports Center. The Bears will square off against the Penn Quakers (4-1, 0-1 Ivy) on Saturday at 12 p.m. and the Princeton Tigers (2-7, 0-1 Ivy) on Sunday at 2 p.m. Sunday's contest is part of Brown's annual Rumble & Tumble event with gymnastics.
Penn and Princeton are both coming off losses in their last duals on Jan. 24, with the Quakers falling to Columbia, 23-13, and the Tigers losing to Rider, 20-19. The Bears are coming off a hard-fought 21-20 loss at Binghamton last Saturday after losing the bonus points advantage to the Bearcats.Â
Yesterday, the first coaches rankings were released and Andrew Reall (197) and Alex Semenenko (285) came in at No. 19 and No. 25, respectively. Both wrestlers have put together sensational seasons, with Reall at 26-4 overall and Semenenko at 19-5. Reall and Semenenko are also 7-1 in dual meets this season. Semenenko is also ranked amongst the nation's leaders in pinfalls.Â
Austin McBurney (149) is coming off a 1-1 performance last weekend, and enters the weekend 6-2 in dual meets. McBurney is 17-8 overall and has the opportunity to face off against two nationally ranked opponents in No. 8 Cross Wasilewski (Penn) and No. 15 Eligh Rivera (Princeton).Â
Max Norman (165) looks to continue building upon his strong freshman campaign for the Bears, entering the weekend with a 19-9 overall record and a 5-3 record in dual meets after going 2-0 last weekend against Cornell and Binghamton. Much like his teammate McBurney, Norman will face two nationally ranked opponents in No. 18 Sean Seefeldt (Penn) and No. 21 Ty Whalen (Princeton).Â
