
Women’s Basketball Downs Dartmouth 55-41

HANOVER, N.H. - The Brown women's basketball team (12-6, 4-2 Ivy) found itself back in the win column after downing the Dartmouth Big Green (9-10, 0-5 Ivy) 55-41 at Leede Arena on Friday night.
Grace Arnolie and Alyssa Moreland led the way for the Bears, netting 14 points apiece. Moreland continued to impress, shooting 58% from the field, grabbing nine rebounds, three steals, and two blocks and assists. Arnolie assisted on four baskets, posted three steals, and a block.
Ada Anamekwe had a notable nine rebounds and five steals against the Big Green.
The Bears got on the board first, knocking down two three-pointers within the first couple of minutes of the contest. A layup from Dartmouth's Olivia Austin knotted the score up at eight, right before the first quarter media timeout. This proved to be the only time that the score would be tied during regulation. Brown went on a 9-0 run to close out the first quarter.
Scoring went back and forth in the second quarter, with the Big Green netting 11 points to Brown's 10. Dartmouth's extra point was still not enough, with Brown leading 27-23 at the break.
The Bears' defense showed out in the third quarter, holding the Big Green to just five points. Brown more than doubled that, netting 11 points in the quarter. Brown remained in the driver's seat heading into the final quarter of play.
The Big Green went on a 7-0 run midway through the fourth quarter with the help of some free-throws, but were only able to collect three more points before the clock expired. Brown outscored Dartmouth 17-13 in the fourth quarter to earn their 12th win of the season.

The Bears will be back in action tomorrow night when they take on the Harvard Crimson. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside of Lavietes Pavilion.
