
Gymnastics Returns Home for Rumble & Tumble on Sunday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown gymnastics team will return home this Sunday to host Southern Connecticut State in the Rumble & Tumble, a dual gymnastics meet coinciding with a wrestling meet that will feature Brown and Princeton. Start time for both meets is set for 2 p.m. at the Pizzitola Sports Center.Â

DEWAR LEADS BROWN AT BRIDGEPORT
Senior Sophia Dewar led the Bears in all three of her events on January 24 at Bridgeport, taking first place on floor (9.850), and taking second place on vault (tie-9.775) and bars (career-high of 9.750).
YANG TIES PROGRAM RECORD
Junior Lindsey Yang tied the program record on beam on January 18 with a 9.925, tying Janye Finst's record that has stood since 2001.
This season, Yang ranks No. 1 in the GEC on beam and No. 2 on floor.
BEAM QUEENS
Brown ranks second in the GEC on beam so far this season. Lindsey Yang and Rehna Saalinger each won on beam through the first two meets.
Brown held the No. 1 rank on beam in the GEC in six of the 11 weeks in 2025, and finished the season No. 2 with a team NQS of 48.820. All six members of the Bears' beam lineup return in 2026. All six ranked in the top 25 in the GEC last season.
OWNING THE FLOOR
Brown holds the No. 2 rank in the GEC on floor through the first three weeks. Lindsey Yang has earned at least a share of the floor title at each of the two meets she has competed in and ranks second in the GEC. Sophia Dewar ranks tied for third in the GEC on floor this season.
2026 GEC WEEKLY AWARDS
Brown has had three GEC weekly award winners this season. Dating back to last season, this is the first time in nine weeks that Brown did not have a weekly GEC award winner.
