Men's Hockey Returns to Meehan to Host Merrimack

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (3-11-0, 2-6-0 ECAC) return to Meehan Auditorium to host the Merrimack Warriors (8-10-0, 4-7-0 HEA) in a non-conference matchup Saturday night.
Saturday night's game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+ in the United States and on Stretch Internet internationally.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters Saturday with a 3-11-0 overall record and 2-6-0 ECAC mark. The Bears are tenth in the ECAC standings and are just six points back of Princeton in fourth.
- Brown's offense averages 2.3 goals per game with Ivan Zadvernyuk leading the squad with eight assists and 10 points. Ryan St. Louis leads the team with four goals.
- Nine Bears have recorded five or more points this season.
- Brown's power play clicks at 8.1% with three goals in 37 attempts. Zadvernyuk, Ben Poitas, and Michael Salandra have the man-up goals this season.
- Defensively, Brown allows 3.8 goals per game with senior Tyler Shea holding a 3.25 goals against average and .909 save percentage in 11 games.
- Brown's penalty kill enters Saturday at 75.5% (40-53) to rank tenth in the ECAC.
- Merrimack enters Saturday's non-conference matchup with an 8-10-0 overall record and 4-7-0 Hockey East record. The Warriors have won three straight games with victories over Yale, LIU, and Vermont.
- Merrimack's offense averages 2.9 goals per game to rank sixth in Hockey East and tied for 33rd nationally.
- Nick Pierre leads the team with nine goals and is tied for fourth on the squad with 12 points. Four of his goals have come on the power play.
- Trevor Hoskin leads the Warriors with 14 assists and 18 points in 17 games played.
- The Merrimack power play clicks at 22.9% (16-70) to rank third in Hockey East and 18th in the NCAA.
- Defensively, Merrimack ranks eighth in Hockey East and tied for 33rd nationally with 3.0 goals against per game.
- Goaltender Max Lundgren has played every minute for Merrimack and holds a 2.70 goals against average and .916 save percentage.
- Merrimack's penalty kill ranks fourth in the conference and 22nd nationally at 82.9% (58-70). Merrimack has allowed more than one power play goal in a game just once this season.
- Saturday marks the 16th game between the Bears and Warriors in a series dating back to 1975.
- The Warriors are 7-6-2 in the series and 5-4-1 over the last 10 meetings.
- Saturday marks the fifth straight season the teams have met after a 12-season hiatus. Both teams are 2-2 in the last four meetings with the road team winning every game comfortably.
- Brown returned from the break last weekend with a trip to the Garden State to face Princeton in a non-conference matchup.
- The Tigers prevailed in overtime, 5-4, with Kai Daniells tallying two goals.
- Tyler Shea recorded a career-high 46 saves in the setback.
- Ivan Zadvernyuk tallied a goal and an assist and Tanner Hartman chipped in with a pair of assists offensively.
