SEASON OPENER RECORD
Brown's score of 193.025 on January 11 is the highest score in a season opener in program history. The team has now posted its three highest season-opening scores over the last four years:
193.025 in 2026 (home quad)
192.950 in 2024 at Oregon State (dual)
191.225 in 2023 at Yale (dual)
2026 GEC WEEKLY AWARDS
Brown had two GEC weekly award winners in the opening weekend. Dating back to last season, Brown has had at least one gymnast win a weekly award in seven consecutive weeks.

STRONG DEBUTS
Five gymnasts made their collegiate debuts for Brown on January 11. Highlighting the debuts were rookie Rehna Saalinger who took first place on beam (9.850), and fellow freshman Lulu Ton-That who placed sixth on vault (9.650). Sophomore Addie Whiteside placed fifth on beam 9.675 while Maeve McIlroy scored a 9.625 on floor.
BEAM QUEENS
Brown took three of the top five spots on beam at the season-opening quad meet on January 11, which included Rehna Saalinger (1st/9.850) and Addy Whiteside (5th/9.625) who were both making their collegiate debuts.
Brown held the No. 1 rank on beam in the GEC in six of the 11 weeks in 2025, and finished the season No. 2 with a team NQS of 48.820. The Bears posted the three highest beam scores in program history in 2025, led by the school record 49.175 at the Ivy Classic on February 23.
All six members of the Bears' beam lineup return in 2026. All six ranked in the top 25 in the GEC last season.
OWNING THE FLOOR
Brown holds the No. 1 rank in the GEC on floor through the first week. Sophia Dewar and Lindsey Yang posted 9.850 last weekend to tie for first place. Liza Marcus posted a 9.775 and Daisy Fallon scored 9.725.
SENIORS LEADING THE WAY
Seniors Sophia Dewar and Liza Marcus led the Bears in the opening meet with a win and runner-up finish apiece. Dewar tied for first on floor (9.850) and took second on vault (9.725). Marcus won on bars (9.800) and took second on beam (9.825). Fellow senior Umi El Mammann also earned a win on vault (9.775).
