Women’s Soccer Set to Host Northeastern on Thursday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's soccer will play a second consecutive home game when they welcome the Northeastern Huskies on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Scouting Brown
Brown is 3-0-1 this season, with their sole loss coming to the Minnesota Gophers, who were nationally ranked in the preseason poll. The Bears have defeated UConn, Rhode Island and New Haven to start the season strong.
They've outscored opponents 7-4 thus far, outshooting them 72-23. The Bears have averaged nine shots on goal per game.
Sophomore forward Ayla Sahin leads the team with 3 goals this season. She earned Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring two game-winning goals against Rhode Island and UConn.
Defensively, the Bears have been physical and consistent. They've allowed just 11 shots on goal this season, with only 12 opponent corner kicks.
Scouting Northeastern
The Huskies are 1-2-1 this season, scoring four goals to their opponents' five. They've recorded 9.3 shots per game, while allowing 11.
Head coach Ashley Phillips is in her 10th season and boasts a career record of 80-67-26. Most recently, Northeastern defeated Bryant by a score of 2-1.
Goalkeeper Eliza Teplow has played the entirety of their four games and has recorded 14 saves. She's yet to keep a clean sheet this season.
Sophomore forward Claire Murray leads the team with two goals. This is her first season with the Huskies after transferring from Illinois, where she recorded a goal and an assist last year.
