AUSTIN, Texas – Adding to her impressive list of accomplishments this season, Brown senior softball standout Laurel Moody has been named a Third Team CSC Academic All-American for her work both on the field and in the classroom, the organization has announced. Moody is one of just 34 softball student-athletes nationwide to earn the All-America honor.
Moody, who was unanimously named Ivy League Player of the Year and First Team All-Ivy, as well as NFCA All-Northeast Region, helped lead Brown to its first NCAA Tournament bid since 1997 breaking multiple school records in her final season. Moody set the school record for hits (62), home runs (15), RBI (42) and walks (31), while finishing fourth in single season batting average (.425). Moody graduated this May with a bachelor's degree in neuroscience. She had previously been named an Academic All-District honoree for the second consecutive year.
