Nine Sailors Earn All-NEISA Recognition

PROVIDENCE, R.I -Â The Brown open and women's sailing teams received nine All New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA) honors, as announced by the association earlier in the week.Â
In making the All-NEISA selections, the committee considers the competitive record of each candidate. The record is made up of each candidate's individual results in both Interconference and conference events. It also includes any Collegiate National Championship competitions if applicable.
Guthrie Braun was named All-NEISA First Team Open Skippers. This marks Braun's second consecutive year earning All-NEISA recognition after being selected as Second Team last year. Braun has played a crucial role for the Bears, helping them finish sixth in the NEISA Open Team Race Championship, and fifth in the ICSA Open Team Race National Championship.
The Bears had three sailors named to the All-NEISA First Team Women's Skippers: Katharine Doble, Laura Hamilton, and Katherine McNamara. The trio are a staple on the women's team, helping them earn eight podium finishes and become third-ranked nationally.Â
Emily Mueller was named First Team Open Crews, with Caroline Keeffe-Jones named to the Second Team. Mueller and Keeffe-Jones helped take Brown to multiple top-five finishes throughout the spring. This marks Mueller's second consecutive recognition, with Keeffe-Jones being a first-time recipient.Â
Katherine Majette and Savannah Young were named All-NEISA First Team Women's Crews, while Francesca Edmands was named to the Second Team. All three sailors had strong spring performances with the women's team. Young and Edmands earn their second consecutive All-NEISA honors with this year's recognition.Â
