Baseball Heads to Holy Cross for Final Non-League Matchup of the Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown baseball team will hit the road for the final time in 2025 on Tuesday evening with its final non-league matchup of the season at Holy Cross. First pitch from Fitton Field in Worcester is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.

SCOUTING BROWN (9-26, 5-13 Ivy)

The Bears are coming off a difficult weekend at home, dropping all three games of their series against Harvard 7-4 (10 inn.), 12-5 and 10-5.
Junior Mika Petersen ranks among the league's leaders in hits (48) and batting average (.356). In Ivy League play, Petersen is batting .387 with a .440 on-base percentage.
Petersen has reached base safely in seven straight games.
Freshman Christian Butera holds a .315 batting average and leads the Bears with a .405 on-base percentage to rank among the league's top rookies.
Junior DJ Dillehay is tied for second on the team with seven doubles, ranks third with a .274 batting average, and leads the team with 27 RBIs.
Junior Mark Henshon will carry a 19-game on-base streak into Tuesday's matchup. He has an eight-game hitting streak and has a hit in nine of his last 10 games.
Senior Gunner Boree has reached base safely in 15 straight games and has a hit in six of his last seven contests. He leads the team with six home runs.

SCOUTING HOLY CROSS (24-21, 15-7 Patriot League)

The Crusaders swept a three-game series from Lafayette at home over the weekend, clinching the Patriot League regular season title in the process.
Holy Cross is 1-2 against the Ivy League this year, falling 14-13 to Harvard and 9-4 to Dartmouth, while topping Yale 4-1.
Senior first baseman Chris Baillargeon leads the Patriot League with a .358 batting average while senior infielder Jimmy King ranks fourth in the league at .331.
Junior outfielder CJ Egrie leads the team with five home runs and ranks third in the PL with a .513 slugging percentage.
Baillargeon (.470) and Egrie (.468) also rank third and fourth, respectively, in the league in on-base percentage.
As a team, the Crusaders lead the Patriot League with a .274 overall batting average and are third in team ERA at 6.13.

The Bears will round out their 2025 season at home this weekend with a three-game series against first-place Penn.
