Baseball Clinches Ivy Tournament Berth on Senior Day
4/25/2026 8:09:00 PM | Baseball
Game two was suspended after 12 innings tied 1-1 and will be resumed at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, followed by Sunday's regularly scheduled series finale.
Between games of the doubleheader, Brown honored its 11-member senior class of 2026 with an on-field ceremony.
GAME 1
The senior class carried the Bears in the opener, with Mika Petersen, DJ Dillehay, Logan Meusy, and Mark Henshon combining for 11 hits, 10 runs scored, 12 RBIs and five walks. Petersen reached base all six times he came to the plate with two hits and four walks with five runs scored, Henshon was 4-for-6 with three RBIs, Meusy was 3-for-4 with a walk, three RBIs and two runs, and Dillehay had two hits and five RBIs, including a home run.
Cornell had the leadoff man reach in eight of the nine innings, but Brown's pitching was able to limit the damage. Sophomore Camren Piwnicki earned the win in relief with 4.0 shutout innings, allowing five hits, no walks, and striking out five. Senior Ty Harris got two outs in the ninth, and senior Olivia Pichardo closed out the win by retiring the lone batter she faced, becoming the first female to pitch in an NCAA Division I game.
In the first inning, Petersen crushed a one-out double off the top of the left field wall, and Dillehay followed two batters later with a no-doubt homer down the left field line for the 2-0 lead.

Cornell broke through in the top of the third for a run on an RBI groundout with the bases loaded, all without the benefit of a hit. Another run without a hit and two walks in the fourth cut it to 4-2.
Brown tacked on three more runs on two hits in the fourth to extend the lead to 7-2. Alex Benevento (bases loaded walk), Dillehay (hit-by-pitch) and Meusy (sac fly) supplied the RBIs.
Cornell got its first two hits in the fifth before Piwnicki used back-to-back strikeouts to get out of a second and third jam.
The Bears sent 12 men to the plate and scored six times on three hits in the sixth to blow the game wide open and take a 13-2 lead. Three more runs in the eighth made it 16-2 as Dillehay, Meusy and Henshon all knocked in runs.
Cornell got two unearned runs back in the top of the ninth.
GAME 2
In the nightcap, freshman Drew Nelson fired 7.0 shutout innings while allowing seven hits and three walks with three strikeouts. Senior Christian Keel tossed the final 5.0 innings, allowing one run and one hit with five strikeouts.
Brown's defense made several huge plays to keep the game scoreless, including turning three double plays, all of which came on lineouts, and Benevento threw out a runner at third trying to tag up from second.
The Bears finally broke the stalemate in the sixth inning to take a 1-0 lead. Petersen led off with a double off the right field wall and later came in on an RBI groundout by Meusy.
Cornell drew even in the eighth with a one-out walk and double into the right field corner to knot the score 1-1.
The game was halted due to darkness after 12 innings.
