CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Brown softball (24-12, 9-6 Ivy) dropped the final game of the series against Harvard (20-10, 9-6 Ivy), falling 3-0 on Sunday (April 20).
Jasmine Hsiao finished the day with two of Brown's six hits but the Bears left 10 on base as Brown was shutout for the time in 11 games.
Alexis Guevara (12-6) lost a start for the first time since April 4 as the senior allowed three runs over seven innings while striking out seven batters.
Harvard picked up two runs in the bottom of the second inning and one in the third but Guevara shut down the Crimson the rest of the game to give the Bears a chance.
Brown left a runner on in each of the first and second and had two runners on after Leah Carey walked and Laurel Moody singled in the second but a flyout kept the Bears off the board.
Alyssa Villarde walked to start the fifth and moved to third with two outs after Kaicee Klus reached on an error but Moody fouled out to again end the threat.
Guevara started the sixth with a single and after a single by Deng with one out, Brown again looked to threaten but a pop out and fly out kept the Bears off the board.
The Bears started the seventh with a single by Carey and double by Hsiao to start the inning. Maggie Foxx hit a grounder to second but the throw home got Carey for the first out. Brown had what it wanted with Moody and Guevara coming up next but a pop out and fly out ended the game.

Brown will be on the road for a midweek doubleheader against Central Connecticut State on Wednesday (April 23).
