Women's Fencing Wraps Up Competition at the 2025 NCAA Northeast Regional

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Brown Bears competed at the 2025 NCAA Northeast Regionals on Sunday at Tufts. Soph Bililies headlined the Bears with a fourth-place finish in the sabre.
Bililies posted a 16-11 overall record for the fourth-place sabre finish. She went 2-2 in the opening round to advance and a 3-3 record in round two to move onto the third round. In that round, Bililies finished 4-2 for the seventh seed in the final round of 12.
In the final round, Bililies posted a 7-4 individual record to finish fourth, including a 5-1 win over eventual champion Jenna Shoman (Harvard).
Alexandra Tzou advanced to the final round of the sabre and finished 11th overall. She posted a 13-14 record throughout the day.
Closing out the sabre competitors were Anika Sinha (21st) and Alyssa Sun (30th).
Amy Mao led the epee competitors with a 15th-place finish after posting a 9-7 overall record. She was followed by Jessie Yan (21st – 6-10), Kira Nguyen (t34th – 2-2) and Dasha Smuk (38th – 2-6).
Mao posted a 3-1 record in the first round, a 3-3 mark in the second round, and a 3-3 mark in the third round to finish 15th.
In the foil, two Bears in Jessie Chen and Grace Li qualified for the final Round of 12. Chen won four matches in the Round of 12 to finish eighth overall and Li collected a pair of wins to finish 10th overall.
On the day, Chen compiled an 11-12 record and Li compiled an 11-16 record. Elsewhere in the foil, Neve O'Neil posted a 1-2 mark in the first round to finish 25th overall.
