Men's Hockey Hosts Princeton in ECAC Opening Round

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (13-13-3, 9-11-2 ECAC) host the Princeton Tigers (12-14-3, 7-12-3 ECAC) in the ECAC Opening Round Friday night at Meehan Auditorium.
Friday's puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will stream on ESPN+ in the United States and on Stretch Internet internationally.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters the ECAC playoffs with a 13-13-3 overall record and 9-11-2 conference mark.
- The Bears closed out the regular season with a Senior Night tie against the Harvard Crimson with a shootout win for the extra league point.
- Brown's offense averages 2.6 goals per game to rank eighth in the ECAC and 43rd nationally. Tyler Kopff leads the team with 19 assists and 26 points with three Bears tied for second on the team with 25 points – Brian Nicholas, Max Scott, and Ryan St. Louis.
- Brown's power play converts at 17.9% (14-78) to rank eighth in the ECAC. Nicholas leads the Bears with 10 power play points with Kopff ranking second with nine points.
- Defensively, the Bears allow 2.6 goals per game to rank fourth in the ECAC and 20th nationally.
- Goaltender Lawton Zacher holds a 2.46 goals against average and .920 save percentage in 20 starts.
- Brown's penalty kill enters the playoffs at 77.3% (75-97) to rank eighth in the conference.
- Princeton enters the ECAC playoffs with a 12-14-3 overall record and 7-12-1 conference mark.
- Princeton closed out the regular season with consecutive wins over St. Lawrence and 19th-ranked Clarkson.
- Offensively, the Tigers average 2.4 goals per game to rank 10th in the conference and tied for 49th nationally.
- Brendan Gorman leads the team with 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points. Seven other Tigers have recorded double-digit points this season.
- Princeton's power play is tied for fourth in the ECAC and 34th nationally at 20.2% (17-84).
- Defensively, Princeton allows 2.9 goals per game to rank sixth in the league and 32nd nationally.
- Senior goaltender Ethan Pearson holds a 2.34 goals against average and .912 save percentage in 16 starts.
- Princeton's penalty kill clicks at 77.4% (65-84) to rank seventh in the ECAC and 42nd nationally.
- Friday marks the 175th meeting between Brown and Princeton dating back to 1900.
- The Bears hold a 93-78-13 all-time record against the Tigers along with a 41-41-7 home record. At Meehan, Brown is 40-37-5.
- Brown and Princeton meet in the ECAC Playoffs for the seventh time on Friday.

- He is tied for ninth in the ECAC in total assists.
- His 0.66 assists per game ranks fourth in the ECAC and 35th nationally.
- His 0.90 points per game are tied for 10th in the ECAC and 67th nationally.
- Kopff is one assist shy of becoming the first Bear since Sam Lafferty to record 20 assists in a season. Lafferty tallied 22 assists in 2016-17.
