Women's Hockey Celebrates Senior Day With Shutout Over Dartmouth
2/8/2025 6:46:00 PM | Women's Ice Hockey
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's hockey (14-10-3, 9-8-3 ECAC) celebrated senior day with a shutout of Dartmouth (4-19-3, 2-15-3 ECAC), beating the Big Green 3-0. Margot Norehad led the way for Brown with two goals.
With the win, Brown clinched home ice in the first round and will be hosting its ECAC Tournament First Round game on Feb. 22. Time and opponent for that game will be determined at a later time.
Brown got things started quickly with three first period goals. The first tally came as Cameron Sikich's shot came off the pads of Dartmouth's goalie and right out front for Avery Saba to put the rebound home three minutes into the game.
At the 13 minute mark, Elodie Roy pinned the Dartmouth forward behind Brown's goal, allowing Jade Iginla to steal the puck. Iginla ripped a cross-ice pass to Norehad who went up the right side and sent a wrister blocker side from the top of the circle past Michaela Hesova for the second goal of the game and her 10th of the season.
With time winding down in the period, Brown had another odd-man rush as the puck was sent from Olivia Fantino to India McDadi, who went across the face of Hesova to Norehad, who had a wide open net for her second goal of the game.
Rory Edwards shutdown Dartmouth for the rest of the game, finishing off her third-career shutout with a 26-save effort.
GAME NOTES
Brown will hit the road to finish up the regular season next weekend as the Bears will head to Cornell and Colgate.
