Women's Hockey Closes Regular Season at Cornell & Colgate

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's hockey finishes its regular season on the road with two ranked contests, taking on No. 4 Cornell on Friday night and No. 5 Colgate on Saturday.

SKATE SHAVINGS
• Brown closes up the regular season on the road traveling to Cornell on Friday (6 p.m.) and Colgate on Saturday (3 p.m.). Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
• The Bears went 2-0 last weekend with wins over Harvard (3-1) and Dartmouth (3-0). With the win over Dartmouth and loss by Union to Cornell, Brown clinched home ice in the first round of the ECAC playoffs.
• The win over Dartmouth gave Brown its 14th win of the season and has clinched a winning record this season for the Bears. The 14 wins are the most by a Brown team since 2005-06. It was also the last time Brown finished the year above .500. The eight ECAC wins Brown has is also the most since the 2005-06 season (10).

• Cornell is 19-4-4 overall and 15-2-3 in ECAC play. The Big Red have won five-straight games coming into the weekend.
• Cornell only has two losses in Lynah Rink this season, the most recent loss being against Colgate on Jan.. 11.
• The Big Red boast the best scoring margin in the ECAC, outscoring opponents by 1.93 goals per game.
• Goaltender Annelies Bergmann leads the NCAA with eight shutouts and is fourth in the NCAA in goals against average (1.387).
INSIDE THE SERIES
• Brown is 0-9-1 in its last 10 games against Cornell. The Bears last win was a 4-3 victory in Providence back in 2018.
• The last time Brown beat Cornell in Ithaca came on Nov. 5, 2005 when the Bears won 3-2. Since Brown has gone 0-16-3 at Lynah Rink.

SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
• Colgate is 25-7-0 and 16-4-0 in ECAC play. The Raiders will host Yale on Friday before taking on the Bears in the regular season finale.
• Colgate dropped its last contest 3-2 at Rensselaer in overtime, snapping an eight-game winning streak.
• The Raiders are tied for the NCAA lead with 32 power play goals this season and are third in the NCAA in power play percentage at 0.296.
• Kristyna Kaltounkova is third in the NCAA and second in the ECAC with 0.83 goals per game.
INSIDE THE SERIES
• Brown took Colgate to overtime earlier this season before falling to the Raiders in the extra frame.
• The meeting this season was the first one-goal game in the series since a 2-1 loss by Brown back in 2022 (six-straight games).

• Senior defensewoman Cameron Sikich was named ECAC Defender of the Week after her performance in two games against Franklin Pierce (Oct. 22).
• Sikich finished the two-game series with three goals and two assists.
• Senior defensewoman Cameron Sikich was named ECAC Defender of the Week for the second time this season after tallying three assists in the wins over Dartmouth and Harvard (Nov. 5).
• Rory Edwards was named ECAC Goaltender of the Week after collecting 80 saves in ties at Princeton and Quinnipiac. Edwards picked up her second-career shutout with a career-high 45 saves against Quinnipiac.
• Edwards was named ECAC Goaltender of the Week for the second time in the last three weeks. Edwards allowed just one goal in games against Harvard and Dartmouth, collecting her third-career shutout against the Big Green.
STRONG START FOR THE BEARS
• Brown started 6-0-0 in a season for the first time since the 1992-93 season. That season the Bears won their first eight games of the season en route to a 15-8-1 mark.

• Brown reached its 11th win of the season in its 21st game of the year, the fastest team for Brown to get to 11 wins in a season since the 2003-04 team that made it to 11 wins in 18 games.
• Brown reaching 11 wins with the two wins last weekend gave the Bears their second-straight season with double-figure wins. Brown had not had back-to-back seasons with 10+ wins since 2005-06 and 2006-07.
