Women's Hockey Hosts Harvard and Dartmouth for Final Home Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's hockey plays host to Harvard and Dartmouth for the final home weekend of the season. The Bears will take on Harvard on Friday (Feb. 7) at 6 p.m. and Dartmouth on Saturday (Feb. 8) at 3 p.m.

SKATE SHAVINGS
• Brown finishes up its regular season home slate with games against Harvard on Friday (6 p.m.) and Dartmouth on Saturday (3 p.m.) Both games will be streamed on ESPN+
• Brown went 1-1 last weekend with a 2-1 loss against Union before bouncing back with a 4-3 win over Rensselaer. With the win over Union, Brown remains in 8th place in the ECAC standings by 0.5 points, and would be hosting a first round game in the playoffs.
• After the game against Dartmouth, Brown will be honoring its Class of 2026. The five-member class consists of Anna Shelden, Abby Hancock, Paige Gross, Cameron Sikich and Jess Ciarrocchi.
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
• Harvard is 2-20-2 overall and 1-16-1 in ECAC play. The Crimson have lost nine-straight games coming into the weekend
• Harvard has not won a game since beating Yale on Nov. 1 with the only other win coming against UConn on Nov. 19 to start the season.
• The Crimson are looking for their first road win of the season as Harvard is 0-9-1 away from Bright-Landry Hockey Center.
• The Crimson is averaging just 1.3 goals per game and have not scored more than two goals in a game since Nov. 8 against Princeton (3)

• Brown has taken five-straight games from the Crimson, including a 5-1 win at Harvard earlier this season.
• The Bears exploded with three second period goals in the win, including a short handed goal from Jess Ciarrocchi. Abby Hancock also scored her first-career goal in the game.
• Brown has won the last two meetings inside Meehan Auditorium, winning 4-1 and 2-1.

• Dartmouth holds a 4-17-3 record and 2-13-3 mark in ECAC play. The Big Green are on a three-game losing streak and will play at Yale before coming to Brown.
• Dartmouth is 3-10-0 away from home and have lost the last two road games after winning three-straight.
• The Big Green are being outscored by over a goal per game (1.5 to 2.6)
• Laura Fuoco and Cally Dixon are the top goal scorers for Dartmouth with seven goals apiece.
INSIDE THE SERIES
• Brown earned a 2-1 win earlier this season at Dartmouth and Brown now has a four-game unbeaten streak on the road against the Big Green.
• In the first game of the season, all three goals were scored on the power play. Ava DeCoste and Ella Muralt each scored a goal for Brown as the Bears overcame a 1-0 deficit.
• Brown has gone 4-1-2 in the last seven meetings with Dartmouth and the Bears are 2-1-2 in the last five home games against Dartmouth.
YOUTH MOVEMENT
• Brown is in the midst of a youth movement as the Bears are being led by the underclassmen with freshmen and sophomores accounting for 42 of the Bears 65 goals (64.8%) and 57.4 % of the team's assists.
• The three top goal scorers for Brown are underclassmen with freshman Monique Lyons leading Brown with 13, followed by sophomores Ava DeCoste (10) and Margot Norehad (8).
EIGHT IS GREAT
• Brown's eight wins in the first half of the season are the second-most wins in program history before the winter break. It was the most wins for the Bears since Brown won nine games in 2004-05 before the calendar turned to January.
THE THREE-POINTER
• Brown had two players collect three points against Sacred Heart (Monique Lyons - 2-1-3, Ava DeCoste - 1-2-3) marking the first game two Bears had three points since Oct. 19 against Franklin Pierce when three Bears had at least three points.
• Brown followed that up with three players tallying three points in the overtime win over St. Lawrence. Monique Lyons had three goals, while Ava DeCoste and Sam Broz each had three assists.
SACRED SHUTOUT
• The Bears shutout Sacred Heart for the first shutout win this season for Brown. Rory Edwards picked up her first-career shutout with 20 saves against the Pioneers.
• The last time Brown shutout an opponent was a 1-0 win over Rensselaer in the first round of the ECAC Tournament last season (20 games)
• The last regular season shutout was a 3-0 win over RIT on Jan. 6, 2024 (29 games)
FAST 11
• Brown reached its 11th win of the season in its 21st game of the year, the fastest team for Brown to get to 11 wins in a season since the 2003-04 team that made it to 11 wins in 18 games.
• Brown reaching 11 wins with the two wins last weekend gave the Bears their second-straight season with double-figure wins. Brown had not had back-to-back seasons with 10+ wins since 2005-06 and 2006-07.
THE EXTRA FRAME
• Brown played in four-straight overtime games for the first time in program history from Jan 17-25. The Bears went 2-0-2 in those four games.
• All four of the overtime games came against ranked teams on the road.
TWO HITTING 10
• Brown has two players on its roster with at least 10 goals this season - Monique Lyons (12), Ava DeCoste (10).
• This is the first season that Brown has had two 10+ goal scorers since 2014-15 - Sam Donovan (12), Kaitlyn Keon (10).
NORTH COUNTRY SWEEP
• Brown swept its North Country trip for the first time in program history earning overtime wins against No. 8 St. Lawrence and No. 7 Clarkson.
• The win at St. Lawrence was the first time since 2005 and the win at Clarkson was the first win there since 2006.
