Women’s Lacrosse Captures 22-6 Win Over Holy Cross

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Brown women's lacrosse team (2-0) picked up a 22-6 win over Holy Cross (3-1) on Friday evening.
Leading 4-3 after the first quarter, Brown outscored Holy Cross 10-1 in the second quarter, Brown launched 14 shots in the second quarter, 13 were on target. The Bears took a 14-4 lead into halftime.
The Bears outscored the Crusaders 7-1 in the third quarter as they took a 21-5 advantage into the final 15 minutes. Both teams scored one goal each in the fourth quarter.
Leah Caputo led the way offensively for Brown with five goals as Beth Anderson found the back of the net four times while dishing out one assist. As a team, the Bears had nine different goal scorers as four players scored four or more.
Along with Caputo and Anderon, Greta Criqui and Carly Camphausen each netted four goals. Annie Burton tallied her 100th career point in the win for Brown while Adele Atherton added a team-high three assists.
Brown will be back in action on Sunday, Feb. 23 when they travel to Fairfield, Conn. to take on Sacred Heart at 3:00 p.m.
