Women’s Lacrosse Falls 11-9 in Tight Battle Against No. 24 Princeton

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown women's lacrosse team (7-6, 3-3 Ivy) fell 11-9 in a tight battle with No. 24 Princeton (8-6, 4-2 Ivy) on Saturday afternoon at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
Riley Peterson led the way offensively for Brown with four points, Caroline Nozzolillo added two goals and one assist. Mackenzie Farley had four draw controls while Mackenzie Conway matched a career-high with 13 saves, Conway also had five ground balls.
After the Tigers opened the game with three-straight goals, the Bears responded with three-straight of their own as Ruby Sliwkowski, Peterson, and Nozzolillo all found the back of the net.
Princeton closed the first quarter on a 2-0 run to take a 5-3 advantage into the second, Conway made four saves in the opening 15 minutes.
Brown outscored Princeton 2-1 in the second quarter behind goals from Tessie Batchelder and Nozzolillo, the Tigers took a 6-5 lead into the second half. Conway made four saves in the second quarter, giving her eight in the first half.
Princeton scored two-straight goals to take an 8-5 lead before Peterson's second goal of the game cut the Tigers' lead to 8-6 heading into the fourth quarter. Conway made two saves in the third quarter.
Princeton extended its lead to 9-6 early in the fourth before Brown responded with a 2-0 run behind goals from Sliwkowski and Peterson to cut the deficit to 9-8. The Tigers then added a 2-0 run of their own, extending their lead to 11-8 before Peterson found the back of the net with 26 seconds remaining.
Brown will close the 2026 regular season on Sunday, April 26 at Penn, the opening draw control is scheduled for 12 p.m. at Franklin Field.
