Reall Wins Bracket at Cougar Clash Open

EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. - After splitting dual meets against Nebraska and Long Island on Friday evening, Brown wrestling concluded the 2025 portion of its schedule at the Cougar Clash Open on Sunday. Hosted by SIUE, No. 31 Andrew Reall highlighted several Bear victories as the nationally-ranked wrestler won his bracket.
"We faced our toughest competition to date, and I'm pleased with the way the mentality of the team continues to grow. They are about it," Marvin Wilenzik '56 Head Coaching Chair for Brown Wrestling Jordan Leen said. "Reall continues to show that he has what it takes to win at the highest level. Frontino and Clearie each had breakthroughs in terms of the way they competed against higher level guys as well."Â
No. 31 Andrew Reall (197) won his weight bracket, going 3-0 on the day and scoring a championship victory over Oklahoma State's Austin Johnson via decision 5-0. Reall moved to an impressive 16-2 record on the season with today's performances. Max Norman (165) and Dominic Frontino (157) each picked up four wins this afternoon and finished in fourth place for their respective brackets.Â
Alex Semenenko (285) recorded his sixth pinfall win of the season over Little Rock's Kaden Darwin in 2:13 en route to a fifth place finish. Thomas Sandoval (184), who earned a bye to start the day, went 1-1 and came in second place for his weight bracket. Other notable results included Eli Carr (149) and Drew Clearie (174) each winning two matches and finishing eighth and seventh in their brackets.Â
