Men's Hockey Falls in Overtime in Non-Conference Game at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Brown Bears (3-11-0, 2-6-0 ECAC) forced overtime in the third period, but ultimately fell 5-4 to the Princeton Tigers (8-4-0, 4-2-0 ECAC) in a non-conference meeting Sunday afternoon at Hobey Baker Rink.
Mike Cataldo recorded his first goal of the season 11:45 into the first period to open the scoring. The junior re-directed a point shot from Owen Dyer to beat Princeton goaltender Conor Callaghan (16 saves). Ethan Mistry added the secondary assist on the goal
The Tigers tied the game just over five minutes later as Jake Manfre beat Brown goaltender Tyler Shea (46 saves) alone in the slot for his seventh goal of the season.
Brendan Tighe made it 2-1 Bears with 41 seconds remaining in the first period with his first career goal. Andrew King fired the puck into the slot, and Tanner Hartman found an open Tighe on the far post for the goal.
Brendan Gorman tallied a Princeton power play goal to tie the game at 2-2 early in the second period. Gorman's sixth goal of the season was assisted by Jaxson Ezman and Tyler Rubin.
Ivan Zadvernyuk tallied his second goal of the season 14:51 into the second period to give Brown another one-goal lead at 3-2. The sophomore collected a quick pass from Charlie Gollob just above the goal line and beat Callaghan with a quick shot. Tanner Hartman added the secondary assist on the goal.
Princeton's Kai Daniells scored twice in less than a minute to turn a 3-2 deficit into a 4-3 Tiger lead heading into the third period. It marked his 11th and 12th goals of the season. Nick Marciano assisted on both goals.
Ben Poitras forced overtime with his third goal of the season with 6:20 remaining in the third period. The sophomore wired a shot from the top of the slot to beat Callaghan with assists going to Zadvernyuk and Alex Pineau.
With less than a minute remaining in regulation, Zadvernyuk was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for spearing. With five seconds remaining on the man-advantage in overtime, Kai Greaves tallied the game-winner for the Tigers.
