11/21/2025 8:46:00 PM | Women's Ice Hockey
POTSDAM, N.Y. – No. 12 Brown women's hockey (7-3-1, 3-3-1 Ivy) dropped its weekend opener to No. 11 Clarkson, 4-2, in upstate New York on Friday night (Nov. 21).
Margot Norehad and Isabella Gratzl each tallied goals for the Bears. Rory Edwards collected 14 saves in net for Brown and Anya Zupkofska picked up seven saves coming in in relief.
Gratzl's goal gave the first year a three-game goal streak and pushed her point streak to five games. Monique Lyons also pushed her point streak to five games with an assist and Sam Broz now has an assist in three-straight contests.
Clarkson got on board first with an early goal just over four minutes into the contest. Just over a minute later, a bad turnover in the Bears' zone led to Clarkson's second goal of the game and the Bears trailed 2-0 after the first 20 minutes.
Brown got on the board in the second, taking advantage of a Clarkson penalty. The Bears rushed into the Clarkson zone and a pass found Norehad in front, who flipped a backhand past Clarkson's netminder to cut the deficit in half.
Ten minutes later, Clarkson responded with a power play goal and the Golden Knights added their fourth goal of the game 90 seconds later.
Brown's last tally came with less than a minute left in the game. On another power play, the Bears came out of a scrum under the Clarkson goal. A pass came back to Gratzl at the point, whose shot on net deflected off a Clarkson defender and found the back of the net.
GAME NOTES
The Bears will finish their weekend trip with a matchup against St. Lawrence on Saturday (Nov. 22) at 3 p.m.
