Men's Hockey Hosts Alaska Anchorage in Non-Conference Action

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (1-5-0, 1-3-0 ECAC) return to Meehan Auditorium to take on the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves (2-6-0, Independent) on Wednesday night. Tomorrow night's game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters Wednesday with a 1-5-0 overall record and 1-3-0 ECAC mark. The Bears most recently fell on the road to 19th-ranked Cornell and Colgate.
- Brown's offense averages 1.50 goals per game with Ryan St. Louis and Brian Nicholas leading the team with two goals apiece. Nicholas leads the Bears with four points.
- Ivan Zadvernyuk and Matt Desiderio both have three assists through six games.
- The power play has two goals in 16 attempts (12.5%) and the penalty kill has allowed five goals in 18 attempts (72.2%).
- The Bears allow 3.20 goals per game to rank ninth in the ECAC. Tyler Shea holds a .919 save percentage and a 2.40 goals against average in six games.
- Brown wins 46% of its faceoffs with Mike Cataldo leading the squad at 63.9% (39-for-61).
- Does not include Tuesday afternoon's game at Stonehill.
- Alaska Anchorage holds a 2-6-0 overall record with wins over Denver on Halloween and also earned a 3-2 win at Bentley (Nov. 15).
- The UAA offense averages 1.60 goals per game to rank 59th nationally.
- Joey Potter and Aiden Westin both have two goals this season and nine other Seawolves have a goal through eight games.
- Ryan Johnson and Karter McNarland both have four assists to lead the Seawolves.
- The power play clicks at 12.9% (4-31) to rank 54th nationally. The penalty kill ranks 58th in the NCAA at 69.4% (25-36).
- UAA allows 4.60 goals per game to rank 58th in the NCAA.
- Tyler Krivtsov has started five games in net and holds a 4.06 goals against average and .895 save percentage.
- The faceoff percentage ranks 62nd nationally at 43.4%.
- Wednesday marks the fourth meeting between Brown and Alaska Anchorage in a series dating back to 1990. It's the first meeting since January 1992.
- The Seawolves own a 2-0-1 overall record in the series.
- The lone game at Meehan Auditorium came on November 23, 1990 - a 6-6 tie.
- Ryan St. Louis recorded his tenth career game-winning goal in the third period against Princeton (Nov. 7). His GWG came on a short handed breakaway halfway through the final period to break a 1-1 deadlock.
- He tallied six game-winning goals last season, the most in a single season in Brown history.
- With 10 in his Brown career, St. Louis is tied with Dave Kelly (1957-60) and two shy of matching the record held by Bob Wheeler (1949-52) and Ryan Mulhern (1992-96).
- Alex Pineau and Henry Bartle spent the 2022-23 season together with the USHL's Des Moines Buccaneers.
- Tristan Zarsky and Ryan Johnson spent the 2021-22 season together with the AJHL's Blackfalds Bulldogs.
- Leo Schwartz and Dimitry Kebreau spent part of the 2022-23 season together with the NAHL's Maryland Black Bears.
