No. 15 Women's Hockey Shutouts Delaware in Saturday Matchup
11/8/2025 6:27:00 PM | Women's Ice Hockey
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 15 Brown women's hockey (4-2-1) took down Delaware (1-12-0) by a score of 3-1 at Meehan Auditorium on Saturday (Nov. 8).
Anya Zupkofska (21 saves) picked up her second win of the season with her second shutout.
The Bears were able to kill off two first period penalties as the game was scoreless after the first 20 minutes.
Brown got the scoring started just 34 seconds into the second period. Isabella Gratzl fired one on net from the point that deflected off a Delaware player's skate and into the back of the net. Sam Broz and Monique Lyons assisted on Gratzl's first goal of her career.
The Bears took advantage of two Delaware penalties for their next two goals. As Brown cycled the puck around, Avery Saba sent a pass across ice to Lyons who was at the top of the near circle. Lyons went top shelf over the shoulder of Mattie Robitzer for the Bears second tally of the game at 6:10 of the second.
Just over two minutes later, Brown was back on the power play. The Blue Hens looked to have cleared the puck as Victoria Damiani gathered it at Brown's blue line. Damiani quickly went cross-ice to Margot Norehad who entered the offensive zone and wristed one to the back of the net for her team-high fifth goal of the season.
Brown killed off its third penalty of the night during the second period as the Bears kept Delaware's offense off the board.
Zupkofksa faced her most shots of the night in the third period, sending away all 10 shots she faced in the final 20 minutes.
GAME NOTES
Brown will finish up its weekend against Delaware with a game against the Blue Hens on Sunday at 1 p.m.
