Men’s Soccer Travels to No. 13 Princeton on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's soccer team will travel to Princeton, N.J. on Saturday night to face the 13th-ranked Tigers. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. from Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium.
The match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

- The Bears opened up Ivy League play on Sept. 27 when they hosted the Dartmouth Big Green, defeating them 2-1.
- First-year forward Mateo Pereyra got the Bears on the board first, with his second goal of the season. After receiving a pass from senior midfielder Mads Stistrup Petersen, Pereyra found himself in the penalty arc. He then fired the ball sending it past Dartmouth's goalkeeper Konstantinos Dellas, to take a 1-0 lead.
- Pereyra's goal marks the third time this season the Bears have scored first within the first ten minutes.
- The Bears have not lost a game since Sept. 10, when they dropped their contest 3-1 to UConn.
- Amaral ranks within the top-three in the conference in three different statistical categories. He ranks second in shots on goal with an average of 1.38 per game. Amaral ranks third in shots averaging 3.25 per game, and has the third-most assists in the Ivy League averaging .500 per game.
- Stistrup Petersen also ranks among the League leaders in four different categories. He has the fifth-most points in the conference, averaging 1.13 points per game. He also has the seventh-most goals in the Ivy League, averaging .375 per game. Stistrup Petersen also ranks seventh in assists, averaging .375 per game. He holds 10th place in shots on goal with .88 per game.
- Pereyra enters the Ivy League leaders with the seventh-most game-winning goals (.143/g).
- After making his fourth-straight start, sophomore goalkeeper Max Pfaffman also enters the conference leaders, with the third-lowest goals against average (.740), and third-most saves (.786).
- Pfaffman also ranks fifth in saves per game, making an average of 2.75 per game.
Scouting the #13 Tigers (7-1-0, 1-0 Ivy)
- The Tigers opened up Ivy play on Sept. 27 when they traveled to Harvard, defeating them 1-0.
- Princeton's lone loss of the season came on Sept. 10 when they dropped their match 1-0 against Hofstra.
- The Tigers' Jack Jasinski leads the team with three goals and three assists, for nine points. Jasinski ranks 10th in the Ivy League in goals (.375), fourth in game-winning goals (.250/g), and sixth in points (1.13/g).
- Daniel Ittycheria follows behind with four goals for eight points. Ittycheria ranks fourth in the conference in shots (2.86/g), second in goals (.571/g), first in game-winning goals (.429/g), fourth in shots on goal (1.29/g), and fourth in points (1.14/g).
- Goalkeeper Andrew Samuels has the second-highest goals against average in the Ivy League with .375. He also ranks first in shutouts per game (.625/g), and saves (.893). He also has the fourth-most saves in the conference with an average of 3.13 per game.
- Princeton is currently second in the Ivy League in points and goals, averaging 5.75 points and 2.0 goals per game.
- The Tigers also have the second-lowest amount of goals allowed, averaging just .375 per game.
- Princeton has totaled 104 points in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 DI Poll, ranking them 13th in the nation.
- In their last matchup, the Tigers earned a 2-1 win over the Bears.
- The last time Brown made the trip to Princeton, both teams played to a 0-0 draw.
- In their last 10 meetings, the Bears hold a 2-4-4 record.
- The last time the Bears defeated the Tigers was in 2017, when Brown hosted Princeton.
