
Men’s Soccer Continues Conference Play at Harvard on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's soccer team will resume Ivy League play on Saturday evening, when they travel to Jordan Field to take on the Harvard Crimson. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
The match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Scouting the Bears (5-4-2, 1-1-1 Ivy)
- The Bears capped off non-conference play on Tuesday night when they dropped their match 3-0 to No. 2 Bryant.
- Senior goalkeeper Henrik Weiper made his first start since Brown's match against UConn on Sept. 10, making four saves.
- Five different Bears recorded shots against the Bulldogs.
- In their most recent Ivy outing last Saturday afternoon, Brown played to a scoreless draw against Penn. Brown's strong defense and goalkeeping helped keep the Quakers off the board.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Max Pfaffman made his sixth-straight start against Penn, making five saves to give the Bears a clean sheet for the night. The draw also marked Pfaffman's second career shutout.
- Junior forward Lorenzo Amaral ranks fourth in the Ivy League in shots (2.73/g) and shots on goal (1.18/g). He also holds onto seventh in assists, averaging .364 per game.
Scouting the Crimson (3-4-4, 0-2-1 Ivy)
- The Crimson were selected to finish sixth in the Ivy League Men's Soccer Preseason Poll.
- Goalkeeper Lucian Wood was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 13. Wood posted a shutout against then-ranked No. 2 Vermont back on Oct. 7. Wood ranks fourth in the conference in saves per game with an average of 3.43 per game. He holds fifth place in goals against average (1.000), saves (.774), shutouts per game (.286).
- In the Crimson's last time out, they played to a 1-1 draw against Yale. Harvard has dropped their other two conference matches to Princeton and Penn.
- Andreas Savva leads Harvard in scoring with three goals and two assists for eight points. He also ranks eighth in the Ivy League in shots, with an average of 2.27 per game.
- Harvard's three wins came earlier in the season in non-conference play against Providence College (2-0), the University of California (3-1), and the University of New Hampshire (1-0).
History
- The Bears and Crimson last met in 2024, when Brown hosted them. The Bears posted a 3-1 win over Harvard.
- In their last 10 matchups, the Bears hold a 3-2-5 over the Crimson.
