"Obviously we're disappointed with the result tonight, but I'm really proud of the guys for their performance," Friends of Brown Men's Soccer Head Coaching Chair Chase Wileman said. "I think we were really good tonight despite the results, and there were a lot of positives that we can take from this."
Senior goalkeeper Henrik Weiper made his first start since Brown's loss to UConn last month (Sept. 10). Weiper faced 10 shots in tonight's contest, making four saves.
The Bears held strong for the majority of the first half, with their defense playing a large role in blocking shots and limiting Bryant's opportunities.
The Bulldogs struck first, with Abdel Talabi getting Bryant on the board in the 37th minute. Paco Fernandez took a corner kick that Talabi headed into the net, to give Bryant the 1-0 advantage heading into the break.
In the 67th minute, the Bears were issued a yellow card resulting in a penalty kick for Bryant. They were able to capitalize on the opportunity extending their lead over Brown, 2-0.
In the bottom half of the second, Weiper made a full-extension save, tapping the ball over the backside of the net.
Brown matched Bryant in recording five shots in the second half. Four different Bears posted shots throughout the match (Dafe, Mitchell,Hille, and Wharton).
Bryant was able to squeeze one final goal in to close the night out with a 3-0 final.
