Men's Water Polo Splits Two NWPC Contests on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Brown men's water polo split two NWPC games on Saturday (Oct. 11), beating MIT and falling to No. 17 Harvard.

Brown vs. MIT (18-12)
The Bears started off game one strong with their first goal scored by Ramzi Megalli a minute and 11 seconds into the game. Megalli totaled three goals for the Bears during the game.

With William Griswold back in the pool for his first game of the season scoring five goals, the Bears kept ahead of the Engineers throughout the first half of the game.Â

The team kept up their momentum during the second half with the help of Ilias Stothart, Mac Berry and Brody Paine each scoring two goals for the Bears.Â

With Dimitrios Kratimenos on the defensive side stopping nine goals during the game alongside Ryan Miele saving another three, the Bears were able to defend their home pool once again.  Â

vs. Harvard (12-15)
Brown started game two off strong keeping tied against the Crimson for the first half of game with Ilias Stothart scoring the first goal of the game just 18 seconds in and contributing a second goal for the Bears during the game.Â
Â
Jaxson Tierney was a strong player for the Bears scoring three goals keeping the score close IN the second half of the game along with William Griswold scoring two more goals for the bears.Â
Â
Once again Dimitrios Kratimenos was outstanding in goal with 15 saves but the Bears could not overcome a late second half deficit..
