Men’s Basketball Travels to Penn and Princeton This Weekend

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Brown men's basketball team (9-8, 1-3) will travel to Penn (6-11, 2-2) on Friday and Princeton (14-5, 3-1) on Saturday.
Scott Cordischi and Russ Tyler '71 will bring you the action for both games live on the Brown Varsity Network, fans can access the Brown Varsity Network via the Brown Bears app, Varsity Network app, or BrownBears.com. Both games will also be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Last Time Out
Brown suffered an 84-83 loss to Dartmouth (Jan. 25), Alexander Lesburt Jr. led all Bears with 21 points on 7-15 shooting from the field and 6-14 shooting from three-point range. Lyndel Erold chipped in a career-high 20 points as Kino Lilly Jr. recorded his second double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 assists.
History Made, The Chase Continues
Kino Lilly Jr. is now the all-time leader in program history with 300 three-pointers made. Lilly Jr. also sits second all-time in career points with 1,716, he is 326 points away from being the all-time program leader.
Ivy Iverson
Lilly Jr. is averaging 18.2 points per game on 40.7 percent shooting from the field and 40.8 percent shooting from three-point range this season.
The senior is averaging 3.53 three-pointers per game and is on pace to hit 99 triples, which would break Brown's single season record of 93 set by Sean McGonagill during the 2013-14 season.
The Glenn Dale, Md. native's pace would put him third in Ivy League history for most three-pointers made in a single season behind Ryan Wittman (Cornell) who hit 109 during the 2009-10 season and Matt Morgan (Cornell) who hit 107 during the 2018-19 season.
Lilly Jr.'s 3.56 three-pointers per game ranks fifth in the nation, his 60 total three-pointers made sits 34th nationally. His 300 three-pointers ranks 20th in the nation among active players.
Cooley Continues To Impress
Aaron Cooley is averaging 12.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, the senior has double-figure scoring efforts in 11 out of 17 games and has three double-doubles.
Cooley netted a career-high 28 points in Brown's 83-82 win at Cornell (Jan. 20), he also had a career-high 10 field goals made against the Big Red. Cooley's 28 points was the most by a Bear this season, the Roxbury, Mass. native shot 10-13 from the floor and 3-3 from three-point range, all three triples came in the first half. Cooley then shot a perfect 4-4 from the floor in the second half while grabbing seven total rebounds.
Cooley grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds at Siena (Nov. 4), his 15 rebounds was the most by an Ivy League player this season. He is shooting 47.5 percent from the floor this season and has shot 14-25 from the floor over the last two games.
Lewis' Leap
In the absence of Nana Owusu-Anane, Landon Lewis has scored in double figures in 13 out of 15 games played this season. Lewis has scored 15 or more points in eight out of 15 games played.

Lewis recorded his first career double-double in Brown's win over Sacred Heart (Nov. 17) with 14 points and 11 rebounds on a perfect 6-6 shooting; he backed up that effort with 17 points (8-11) shooting at Canisius (Nov. 23).
Lewis' 3.13 offensive boards per game ranks first in the Ivy League, his 6.9 rebounds per game is third in the Ivy League, his 59.2 field goal percentage ranks 24th in the nation and he is averaging 13.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game this season.
On the defensive end, Lewis has recorded four or more blocks on three separate occasions, his 1.40 blocks per game ranks fourth in the Ivy League.
Lesburt's Big Stretch
Over the last three games, Alexander Lesburt Jr. is shooting 48.3 percent from the floor and has hit at least three-pointers in all three games.
Against Harvard (Jan. 18), Lesburt Jr. shot 4-10 from the floor and 3-8 from three-point range. Lesburt Jr. shot 4-6 from the floor at Cornell, including 3-4 from three-point range, including a perfect 3-3 from distance in the second half.
Lesburt Jr. then hit five first half three-pointers against Dartmouth (Jan. 25) and finished with six made three-pointers. It was the second time this season the Derry, N.H. native made six triples in a game this season. Lesburt Jr. is averaging 15.3 points and 4.3 rebounds over the last three games.
Senior Leadership
Over the last five games, Lyndel Erold is shooting 21-34 from the floor and has recorded double-digit scoring efforts in three out of four Ivy League games.
Erold matched a career-high 15 points in Brown's Ivy League opener at Yale (Jan. 11) on 5-8 shooting, Erold then had 11 points on 5-9 shooting at Cornell (Jan. 20). Erold followed up his performance at Cornell with a career-high 20 points with four three-pointers made against Dartmouth.
Rochester Rising
David Rochester is shooting 6-12 from the floor and 4-5 from three-point range over the last three games. Rochester logged a career-high 23 minutes against Dartmouth and matched a career-high 11 points to go along with five rebounds. He also tied a career-high with two steals against the Big Green.
Scouting Penn (6-11, 2-2)
Penn welcomes Brown seeking its third consecutive win. After beginning Ivy League play 0-2, the Quakers have earned two consecutive victories. Most recently, Penn took down Columbia 93-78 (Jan. 25).
Penn is 4-4 at The Palestra this season and 1-1 at home in Ivy League play.
Scouting Princeton (14-5, 3-1)
Princeton saw its seven-game winning streak snapped with an 85-76 loss to Cornell (Jan. 25). Xavian Lee leads the Tigers with 17.2 points per game and 5.4 assists per game. Reigning Ivy League Player of the Year Caden Pierce is averaging 12.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game this season.
Princeton is 44-7 at Jadwin Gymnasium since the beginning of the 2021-22 season.
