
Track and Field Competes at URI Invitational

KINGSTON, R.I. – The Bears Track and Field team competed at the URI Invitational and showed out with several top finishers.
MEN
In the 60 meters, junior Elias Archie finished second with a time of 6.89 seconds. Daniel Sarisky and Kyle Dargie also participated.
In the men's 200 meters, Trevor Wilder finished first with a time of 22.45 seconds, while Jason Estrada was fourth with a time of 22.68.
The 400-meter race was run by first-year John Mueller who finished seventh with a time of 51.66.
Sophomore Aaron Caveney finished fifth with a time of 1:07.18 in the men's 500 meters.
Nicholas Strayer finished eighth in the 1000 meter race with a time of 2:31.01, while Colin Fisher was 10thwith a time of 2:32.9.
The mile race was run by four Bears competitors including Sebastian Margetts (2nd/4:14.30), John Farrell (7th/4:23.35), Tommy Gaffey (13th/4:26.04) and Jason Markopoulos (27th/4:31.33).
In the men's 60-meter hurdles, Gabriel Thai finished 19th with a time of 9.32, while Link Lignell was 26th with a time of 10.03.
Brown's A team finished second in the 4x400 relays with a time of 3:25.34. Their A team consisted of Jason Estrada, John Mueller, Trevor Wilder and Daniel Sarisky.
Gabriel Thai finished 17th in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.85 meters. Hunter Springer was 23rd with a mark of 1.8 meters.
In the men's long jump, Adeposi Aderogba finished first with a mark of 7.12 meters. Frank Monahan-Morang was third with a mark of 6.94 meters.
Sophomore Karon Johnson finished third in the shot put with a mark of 15.17 meters.
Four Bears competed in the men's weight throw including Keith Daigneau (1st/18.97m), Ethan Wordell (5th/16.62m), James Chafouleas (14th/14.43m) and Karon Johnson (19th/13.87m).
WOMEN
In the 60-meter women's final, Alyssa Jackson finished second with a time of 7.69.
Kate Scanlan finished fourth in the 200-meter race with a time of 26.4.
Sophomore Anna Pollak finished 2nd in the 400 meters with a time of 26.40 and Tanisha Patil was third in the 500 meters with a time of 1:18.94.
In the women's 800-meter race, Nina Kruzewska finished fifth with a time of 2:19.17.
The women's 1000-meter race was run by five Bears runners including Scarlet Stimson (1st/2:51.74), Lillian Kaelber (2nd/2:56.7), Olivia Fraga (4th/2:58.72), Emily Mrakovcic (7th/3:01.51) and Juli Gonzalez (9th/3:02.9).
The women's mile run was completed by Sarah Paul who finished seventh with a time of 5:14.01.
Junior Sara Perez finished fourth in the 3000 meter race with a time of 10:41.6. Eve Siff-Scherr was sixth with a time of11:03.97 and Caroline McCool was seventh with a time of 11:06.54.
The 60-meter hurdles featured Elle Riley who finished second with a time of 8.74. Simone Dunbar was fourth with a time of 8.89 and Delaney Seligmann was seventh with a time of 9.09.
The Bears C team finished first in the women's 4x400 relay with a time of 3:55.11. The team featured Elle Riley, Anna Pollak, Alyssa Jackson and Maddelynn Brooks.
Junior Nene Mokonchu was first in the high jump with a mark of 1.73 meters, with Maria Camposano finishing seventh with a mark of 1.55 meters.
In the long jump, Jada Joseph was first with a mark of 5.88 meters. Delaney Seligmann trailed closely in second with a mark of 5.59 meters. Rosie Volpintesta was seventh with a mark of 5.19 meters.
Rachel Bibiu was fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.52 meters.
In the shot put, Michelyn Appiah was sixth with a mark of 12.55 meters. Danielle Meribe was 10th with a mark of 11.31 meters and Nicolette Ducharme was 19th with a mark of 10.24 meters.
The women's weight throw featured five Bears athletes. Chidinma Agbasi was the best, finishing second with a mark of18.96 meters. Michelyn Appiah (3rd/16.78m), Jillian Leahy (5th/16.67m), Nicolette Ducharme (7th/15.56m) and Giana DeCesare (8th/15.14m) also competed.

The Bears will return to action next week at the Penn 10 Elite and the River Hawk Invitational.
