Six Individuals, Women’s 4x100m Relay Team Qualify for NCAA First Round

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown track and field programs will have six individuals and one relay team compete at the 2026 NCAA East Region First Round. The University of Kentucky will host the meet in Lexington from Wednesday, May 27 to Saturday, May 30.
Three athletes from both the men's and women's teams have qualified individually, along with the members of the women's 4x100m relay team.
The East Region First Round features the top 48 athletes from each event (top 24 for relays). Those that place in the top 12, along with the top 12 finishers from the West Region First Round, will advance to the NCAA National Championships in Eugene, Oregon on June 10-13.
WOMEN
Junior Elle Riley will attend the first round as the No. 9 seed in the 400m hurdles. Her seed time of 57.04 seconds is the Brown school record, which she set this past weekend while winning the Ivy League Heps title.
Senior Nimrit Ahuja has qualified for the first round as the 19th seed in the 3,000m steeplechase with her seed time of 10:03.23, which she set this past weekend at Ivy League Heps. The mark ranks second on the school's all-time list.
Junior Olivia Fraga will join Ahuja in the steeplechase as the 30th seed with a seed time 10:07.72, which came at the Larry Ellis Invitational on May 1 and is currently the fourth-fastest time in school history.
The 4x100m relay team has also qualified for the first round as the No. 22 seed. Riley, Alyssa Jackson, Sameera Monks, Anya Anderson and Sydney Ruckett will all represent the team in Lexington. The team's seed time of 44.24 seconds is the school record, which they set on May 2 at Northeastern.
MEN
The men will be represented in three field events at the First Round, led by Ivy League Heps javelin champion junior Eddie Webb. Webb's Heps winning throw of 67.85 meters ranks eighth in school history and is the No. 22 seed for the first round.
Junior Ethan Wordell will be the No. 42 seed in the hammer throw with a mark of 62.84 meters, which he obtained at the Georgia Tech Invitational on April 17 and ranks fourth in school history.
Freshman Jaden Stewart's strong rookie season will result in a first round trip as the No. 47 seed in the triple jump. His seed of 15.39m came at Ivy League Heps, where he landed on the podium in third place. The leap also is tied for seventh on the school's all-time list.
