Women's Basketball Continues Conference Play at Harvard

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Brown women's basketball team will head to Lavietes Pavilion in Cambridge, Mass. for their first Ivy road game of the season where they will take on the Harvard Crimson. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Scouting the Bears (7-8, 1-1 Ivy)
- The Bears earned their first conference win of the season on Saturday, Jan. 11., 77-69 over the Yale Bulldogs.Â
- Junior guard Grace Arnolie set a new career-high against the Bulldogs, with 35 points. She surpassed her previous season high of 27 points which was also recorded this season against Rhode Island back on Nov. 23. Arnolie is now tied for sixth place alongside Vita Redding (1998-89) and Donna Yaffe (1984-85). in most points scored in a single game in program history. Arnolie shot 50% from the field, went 13-14 in free throws, and assisted on seven baskets.Â
- First-year forward Aima Ofunrein scored the third-most points against Yale, tallying 14 points. Ofrunrein went a perfect 7-7 in the paint, and grabbed six rebounds.Â
- Arnolie and Ofunrein were named the Ivy League's Player and Rookie of the Week respectively, after their stellar performances against the Bulldogs.Â
- Sophomore guard Olivia Young shot 5-6 in three-pointers against Yale, posting 15 points. Young now leads the Ivy League in three-point percentage with .370.Â
- The Bears lead the conference in three-pointers made, averaging 8.0 per game.
- The Crimson posted their second loss of the season on Saturday, Jan. 11 to the Princeton Tigers. The contest remained close with only two points separating the teams. Harvard's only other loss this season was to Quinnipiac, on Nov. 10.
- Harvard went on a 10 game win streak beginning on Nov. 14, and ran through Jan. 4. During that span they posted wins against Boston College, Maine, Northeastern, Northwestern, Illinois State, Stony Brook, St. John's, Rhode Island, Boston University, and Yale.
- Elena Rodriguez led Harvard in scoring with 22 points against Princeton. Harmoni Turner scored the second-most points on the team with 15. Turner currently leads the conference in scoring, averaging 20.3 points per game.
- The Crimson rank first in the Ivy League in defense, allowing the least amount of points. On average, Harvard's defense allows 52.4 points per game. They also rank third in offense, posting 68.9 points per game.
- Harvard ranks first in the Ivy League in team free throw percentage with .806.
- Brown has posted 36 wins against the Harvard Crimson, with their last win occurring during the 2014-15 season.Â
- The Bears and Crimson's history dates back to the 1973-74 season, where Brown went on a five game win streak.
