Men's Soccer Defeats Stonehill in 5-3 Victory

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Brown men's soccer team earned their second win of the week with their 5-3 win over Stonehill on Saturday night.

Stonehill struck first with a goal by Jack Kampe in the fifth minute. The Bears retaliated just five minutes later when James Snaith gave Brown the equalizer, earning him his first career goal.

At 23:56 the Skyhawks' Tiago Lima-Bittencourt gave Stonehill the upper hand with a score of 2-1.

The Bears answered the call in the 29th minute. Dylan Ellis setup Lorenzo Amaral for a one-timer to even out the score once again. This marks Amaral's fourth goal of the season.

Brown's third goal of the night came in the 32nd minute. James Snaith took a shot, but was blocked by goalkeeper Ryan Claffey. The ball bounced off of Claffey's fingertips leaving Dylan Ellis the opportunity to capitalize on the rebound, and he did just that.

Owen Burke scored what would be Stonehill's final goal of the night at 53:13.

Brown continued to capitalize on opportunities and scored two more goals in the second half. Mads Stistrup Petersen set up Carlo Brown for the Bears' fourth goal of the night. Harri Sprofera capped off Brown's night at 72:29 with the fifth and final goal of the game.

Brown now extends their series lead to 2-0 over Stonehill.

The Bears will head to Providence College to take on their rivals on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
