
Softball to Honor Seniors in Home Series Against Penn

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball will close out the regular season with a three-game series against Penn over the weekend.
The Bears will take on the Quakers on Friday for a single game beginning at 4 p.m. and will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12:30 p.m. Before the games on Saturday, Brown will honor seniors Moe Kastens, Jodie Aguirre, Jayme Gross, Brianna Rodriguez and Dara English.
All three games of the series will be streamed on ESPN+

SCOUTING BROWN
- Brown comes into the weekend with the Ivy League Tournament still in reach. The Bears sit at 9-9 in conference play and are two games back of fourth-place Dartmouth. Brown will need a sweep over Penn for a chance to overtake Dartmouth and make the tournament.
- The Bears boast one of the top pitching staffs in the league during league play as Brown is second during Ivy League play with a 3.27 ERA. Alexis Guevara leads Brown with a 2.54 ERA, which is third-best in the Ivy League.
- Brown's pitchers lead the league and are 24th in the NCAA in strikeout-to-walk ratio at 2.82. Guevara's 3.30 strikeout-to-walk ratio is second in the Ivy League and 85th in the nation. Macy Borowski is fourth in the league at 3.00.
- Guevara has been counted on to log innings for the Bears as the junior leads the Ivy League and is 27th in the NCAA in complete games.
- Brown's offense leads the Ivy league and is 31st in the NCAA with 1.56 doubles per game. The Bears' 61 doubles are second to Yale's 62 on the season. The Bear's 61 doubles are now tied for the third-most doubles in a season in program history.
- Jasmine Hsiao leads Brown with 12 doubles on the year and is now two doubles away from tying for fifth all-time in program history for doubles in a season.
- Hsiao is just ahead of Dara English and Laurel Moody who each have 11 doubles on the year.
- Moody is 26th in the NCAA in toughest to strikeout at 28.8 at bats per strikeout. The leadoff hitter for the Bears has struck out just four times in 117 at bats this season.
- Penn enters the weekend 9-28 overall and 2-16 in Ivy League play. The Quakers were swept by Dartmouth last weekend.
- Penn sits last in the Ivy League during league play with a .250 team batting average. Brianna Brown is leading the team with a .339 batting average and Sammy Fenton (.328) is the only other batter hitting over .300.
- In the circle, Penn holds a 5.89 team ERA with Kelly Zybura's 4.69 ERA the only one on the staff less than 6.00.
- Brown has dropped four of its last five games against Penn. The Bears have one one game in each of the last two series against the Quakers.
