Baseball Set to Host URI for In-State Showdown Tuesday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown baseball team will conclude its five-game home stand this Tuesday with its annual in-state showdown with the University of Rhode Island. First pitch from Attanasio Family Field at Murray Stadium is set for 3:30 p.m. on ESPN+.

PROBABLE STARTERS

SCOUTING BROWN (8-17, 3-6 Ivy)
- Brown is coming off a home series over the weekend against Princeton, where the Bears dropped two out of three games.
- Junior outfielder Nathan Brasher leads the team with a .333 batting average, which ranks 10th in the Ivy League this season. He will carry at 10-game on-base streak into Tuesday.
- Brasher is tied for the league lead with 14 steals this season. He was 4-for-4 in steals in Sunday's game two against Princeton. He is the only Brown player since at least the 2015 season to have more than two steals in one game.
- Gunner Boree holds a .597 slugging percentage (fifth in the Ivy) to go with .323 batting average and a .470 on-base, which sits fourth in the league.
- Mark Henshon will carry an 18-game on-base streak into Tuesday's matchup, and has a hit in 15 of his last 18 games.
- Batting in the leadoff spot, Mika Petersen ranks sixth in the league with 21 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
- Shortstop DJ Dillehay is batting .307 on the season and is second on the team in both runs (19) and RBIs (20). His RBI total is good for eighth in the Ivy League and he ranks ninth in the league with 31 hits. He is also tied for the league lead with three triples.
- On the mound, weekend starter Paxton Meyers is fifth in the league with a 3.79 ERA.
- Jack Seppings ranks fourth in the league with 41 strikeouts, while Meyers follows in seventh with 38.
- Reliever Jacob Young is tied for second in the league with three saves.
SCOUTING RHODE ISLAND (7-17, 2-4 Ivy)
- The Rams are coming off a series win over UMass this past weekend, taking two out of three at home.
- Rhody is led offensively by freshman shortstop Reece Moroney who is hitting .295 on the season out of the leadoff spot.
- Sophomore Michael Anderson leads the team with seven home runs, six doubles (tied), and 24 RBIs while producing a .275/.381/.638 slash line.
- Outfielder Will Hindle will bring a seven-game hitting streak into Tuesday's contest and is hitting .298 in 17 games this season.
