Dominating Opening Quarter Propels Women’s Lacrosse to 18-11 Victory over Dartmouth

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Bears jumped out to a 9-1 lead after the opening 15 minutes en route to an 18-11 victory over Dartmouth (6-5, 0-4 Ivy) on Saturday afternoon at the Stevenson-Pincince Field.
With the victory, Brown (9-3, 2-2 Ivy) has nine wins in 2024, making head coach Katrina Dowd the winningest first-year head coach in program history. The Bears are among the nation's leaders in scoring offense and today was no different with 29 shots on goal, led by Greta Criqui's five goals.
Annie Burton finished with two goals and six assists, Maddie Joyce, Leah Caputo, Mia Mascone and Sydney Rathjen collected two goals and an assist apiece, and Julia Ford, Paige Gillen and Carly Camphausen each posted a goal.
Margaret Woodberry earned the victory (1-2) after registering a save in the first half. Gisele Todd (6-5) was charged with the loss after allowing nine goals in 35+ minutes.
NEXT UP
The Bears host Princeton at noon on Saturday, April 13. The game will be Brown's 50th Anniversary Celebration, Mental Health Awareness, Youth Day & Alumni Day and will be streamed and televised on ESPN+ and NESN+.
